Elder Bush will speak on UA campus April 6

Former President George H.W. Bush will appear at the University of Arkansas on April 6 as part of the Fayetteville campus’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

It will be the first time UA’s student-financed lecture series has secured a former U.S. commander-in-chief, UA officials said Wednesday.

The 41st president will speak at 8 p.m. in Barnhill Arena.

The lecture is free and open to the public, with seating going on a first-come basis. Advance tickets are not needed. UA spokesman Steve Voorhies said lectures in Barnhill are usually set up for a crowd of 3,500-4,000.
