SPRINGDALE – The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are still a month away from opening their second season as a Class AA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, but Arvest Ballpark will be crawling with people on Saturday. Only there will be no bats, balls, uniforms or even players.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., it will be all about filling jobs at the ballpark. And with the economy slumping, there figures to be more than a few area residents looking for ways to supplement their day jobs.
“There was obviously more buzz around the job fair last year since it was our first season here, but we certainly recognize that the economy may have some people looking for additional income,” said Frank Novak, Naturals’ marketing and public-relations manager. “We have exclusively part-time jobs – probably not something people would want to try making a living doing, but enough to make a few extra bucks and help out.”
