ROGERS – Target Corp., the Minneapolis-based discount retailer known for lowcost fashion and home decor – cheap chic, many call it – will open its third Northwest Arkansas store at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade.
It will be only the eighth Target store in all of Arkansas and the first in Benton County, Wal-Mart’s home turf.
Within a 25-mile radius of the new store, chief rival Wal-Mart Stores Inc. operates seven supercenters, five Neighborhood Market grocery stores and two Sam’s Club outlets. Company headquarters and its 13,000-plus work force are a mere 6.6 miles away in Bentonville.
None of which appears to bother the new Target store manager, Chuck Simmons, in the least.
